เครื่องดื่มแอลกอฮอล์ เมื่อดื่มมาก ๆ บ่อย ๆ จนติด อาจเสี่ยงอ่อนเพลีย นอนไม่หลับ และมีอาการทางจิตได้ ควรสังเกตอาการของตัวคุณเอง และคนรอบข้างให้ดี หากรู้ตัวว่ามีอาการติดเหลา ควรรีบรักษาก่อนสายเกินแก้

นายแพทย์กิตต์กวี โพธ์โน ผู้อำนวยการโรงพยาบาล (รพ.) จิตเวชนครราชสีมาราชนครินทร์ จ.นครราชสีมา ให้สัมภาษณ์เกี่ยวกับปัญหาที่เกิดจากการติดสุราว่า สุรานอกจากจะมีผลเป็นอันตรายต่ออวัยวะภายในร่างกายแล้ว ยังเป็นสารเสพติดที่ออกฤทธิ์กดสมองส่วนกลาง ทำให้ผู้ดื่มมีอารมณ์เปลี่ยนแปลงง่าย มีพฤติกรรมขาดความยับยั้งชั่งใจ หากดื่มจนติด มีความเสี่ยงเกิดอาการทางจิตได้ เช่น ซึมเศร้า จะมีอาการอ่อนเพลีย นอนไม่หลับ เบื่ออาหาร หรือมีอาการประสาทหลอน ที่พบบ่อยคือหูแว่ว หวาดระแวง ทำให้ระบบความจำบกพร่อง ผู้ป่วยจะสับสนเวลา มีปัญหาการเรียนรู้สิ่งใหม่ๆ สมองเสื่อม หรือมีความผิดปกติทางอารมณ์ บุคลิกภาพหรือพฤติกรรม
หากไม่หยุดดื่มและรับการรักษา จะมีโอกาสป่วยเป็นโรคทางจิตเวชสูงกว่าคนทั่วไปที่ไม่ได้ดื่ม เช่น มีโอกาสป่วยเป็นโรคจิตเภท ( Schizophrenia) สูงกว่า 3.8 เท่าตัว มีโอกาสป่วยโรคซึมเศร้า ( Depression ) 3.9 เท่าตัว มีโอกาสป่วยด้วยโรคอารมณ์แปรปรวน 2 ขั้ว หรือโรคไบโพลาร์ (Bipolar) 6.3 เท่าตัว และมีโอกาสป่วยเป็นโรควิตกกังวลสูงกว่าคนทั่วไปที่ไม่ได้ดื่ม 4.6 เท่าตัว และเมื่อป่วยแล้วโรคจะคงอยู่ถาวร ถึงแม้ว่าจะหยุดดื่มไปแล้วก็ตาม
7 สัญญาณเตือน อาการติดเหล้า
ควรสังเกตอาการของตัวเอง บุคคลในครอบครัวหรือคนใกล้ชิดที่ดื่มสุราว่าติดสุราหรือไม่ โดยสามารถสังเกต 7 สัญญาณอาการดังต่อไปนี้
ต้องดื่มมากขึ้นถึงจะได้ฤทธิ์เท่าเดิม
เมื่อไม่ได้ดื่มจะมีอาการทางร่างกายปรากฏ เช่นมือสั่น เหงื่อแตก คลื่นไส้ นอนไม่หลับ
ไม่สามารถควบคุมการดื่มได้
ต้องการจะเลิกดื่มหลายครั้ง แต่ทำไม่สำเร็จ
หมกมุ่นกับการดื่มหรือหาสุรามาดื่ม
เสียการเสียงาน
ยังดื่มสุราทั้งๆที่เจ็บป่วยทั้งป่วยทางกายหรือทางจิตใจ ซึ่งแสดงว่าหยุดดื่มไม่ได้
