มาตรฐาน IP (https://bit.ly/38xgsju) (อังกฤษ : IP Rating, IP Code, IP Standard) ชื่อเต็ม International Protection Standard ตามมาตรฐาน IEC 60529  หรือบางครั้งถูกตีความเป็น Ingress Protection Rating คือมาตรฐานที่บอกถึงระดับการป้องฝุ่นและน้ำของเครื่องจักร (mechanical casings) และอุปกรณ์ไฟฟ้า (electrical enclosures) ซึ่งถูกพัฒนาขึ้นโดย IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) เทียบเท่ากับมาตรฐานยุโรป EN 60529

          การบอกถึงระดับการป้องกันนั้นหลักๆแล้วจะถูกแสดงโดยตัวเลข 2 หลักคือ IPxx โดยหลักแรกจะหมายถึงระดับการป้องกันของฝุ่นหรือการสัมผัสโดยบังเอิญซึ่งจะมีระดับตั้งแต่ 0-6 ส่วนหลักที่สองจะหมายถึงระดับการป้องกัน

ตัวเลขหลักที่ 1 : การป้องกันของแข็ง

          ตารางนี้จะแสดงให้เห็นถึงระดับการป้องกันของแข็งซึ่งของแข็งที่กล่าวนี้หมายถึงการป้องกันการเข้าถึง(เข้าไปในตัวอุปกรณ์)ของฝุ่นหรือการสัมผัส โดยบังเอิญเท่านั้น ไม่รวมถึงการกระแทกจากของแข็งซึ่งการทนต่อแรงกระแทกนั้นจะบอกในตัวเลขหลักที่ 3 ของมาตรฐาน IP (https://bit.ly/38xgsju) และปัจจุบันได้ยกเลิกการใช้แล้ว โดยการป้องกันของแข็งจะมีทั้งหมด 7 ระดับ ตั้งแต่ระดับ 0-6 ดังนี้

ตัวเลขหลักที่ 2 : การป้องกันของเหลว

          ตารางนี้จะแสดงให้เห็นถึงระดับการป้องกันของเหลวซึ่งของเหลวที่กล่าวถึงนี้หมายถึงของเหลวจำพวกน้ำเท่านั้น
ไม่รวมถึงของเหลวประเภทอื่นๆเช่น น้ำมัน, สารเคมีที่มีความเป็นกรดหรือด่างสูง, ฯลฯ โดยการป้องกันมีทั้งหมด 11 ระดับ ตั้งแต่ระดับ 0-9K ดังนี้

          *มาตรฐานที่มีสัญลักษณ์ "K" คือมาตรฐานที่ถูกกำหนดขึ้นโดย ISO 20653 ซึ่งจะไม่มีในมาตรฐาน IEC 60529 ยกเว้น IPx9 ซึ่งจะมีการทดสอบแบบเดียวกับ IP69K การป้องกันอื่นๆ

          นอกเหนือจากการป้องกันฝุ่นและน้ำแล้วยังมีการป้องกันอื่นๆเพิ่มเติมอีก โดยการป้องกันอื่นๆนั้นจะใช้สัญลักษณ์ตัวอักษรต่อท้ายหมายเลข IP โดยมีรายละเอียดตามตารางด้านล่างดังนี้

          เราอาจเจอมาตรฐาน IP (https://bit.ly/38xgsju) อยู่บ่อยๆ จากตารางตัวเลขทั้งหมดที่กล่าวมานั้น มีไม่กี่ตัวที่ถูกนำมาใช้และเป็นที่นิยมทำมาจำหน่าย ซึ่งมาตรฐาน IP (https://bit.ly/38xgsju) ที่นิยมและเห็นได้บ่อยครั้งมีดังนี้


IP54

          คือมาตรฐานที่จะเป็นตัวบอกว่าอุปกรณ์หรือเครื่องมือนั้นๆ มีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันฝุ่นได้แต่อาจมีฝุ่นเล็กน้อยเล็ดลอดเข้าไป โดยฝุ่นที่เล็ดลอดเข้าไปนั้นต้องไม่มีผลใดๆต่อการทำงานของอุปกรณ์และมีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันละอองน้ำที่ตกกระทบตัวอุปกรณ์ได้จากทุกทิศทาง

IP65

          คือมาตรฐานที่จะเป็นตัวบอกว่าอุปกรณ์หรือเครื่องมือนั้นๆ มีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันฝุ่นได้สมบูรณ์
และมีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันน้ำจากการฉีดที่ตัวอุปกรณ์ได้จากทุกทิศทาง

IP66

          คือมาตรฐานที่จะเป็นตัวบอกว่าอุปกรณ์หรือเครื่องมือนั้นๆ มีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันฝุ่นได้สมบูรณ์
และมีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันน้ำจากการฉีดแบบรุนแรงที่ตัวอุปกรณ์ได้จากทุกทิศทาง

IP66K

          คือมาตรฐานที่จะเป็นตัวบอกว่าอุปกรณ์หรือเครื่องมือนั้นๆ มีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันฝุ่นได้สมบูรณ์
และมีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันน้ำจากการฉีดแรงดันสูงที่ตัวอุปกรณ์ได้จากทุกทิศทาง

IP67

          คือมาตรฐานที่จะเป็นตัวบอกว่าอุปกรณ์หรือเครื่องมือนั้นๆ มีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันฝุ่นได้สมบูรณ์
และมีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันการแทรกซึมของน้ำจากการแช่ตัวอุปกรณ์ในน้ำได้ที่ความลึกสูงสุด 1 m เป็นระยะเวลาสูงสุด 30 นาที

IP68

          คือมาตรฐานที่จะเป็นตัวบอกว่าอุปกรณ์หรือเครื่องมือนั้นๆ มีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันฝุ่นได้สมบูรณ์
และมีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันการแทรกซึมของน้ำจากการแช่ตัวอุปกรณ์ในน้ำได้แบบถาวร

IP69K

          คือมาตรฐานที่จะเป็นตัวบอกว่าอุปกรณ์หรือเครื่องมือนั้นๆ มีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันฝุ่นได้สมบูรณ์
และมีความสามารถที่จะป้องกันน้ำจากการฉีดแรงดันสูงพิเศษที่ตัวอุปกรณ์ได้จากทุกทิศทาง ที่อุณหภูมิน้ำสูงสุด 80 ?C
